Participants are requested to follow the Code of Conduct. If any participant
violates the above rules, strict action will be taken against them by the
hackathon organizers.
Hackathon is a community event where we welcome attendees from all
backgrounds. This event is about increasing the overall amount of learning,
partnership, and engagement in the developer community. We value the
participation of each member and want everyone involved to have a joyful and
fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all staff and participants are expected to show
respect and courtesy to others throughout the event. We believe that every
single person has the right to hack in a respectful and safe environment.
No Plagiarism or Re-use of Past Work:
We encourage you to submit projects only prepared in the duration of the
hackathon.
However, if you decide to submit projects consisting of re-used code, or re-
submit a project that you have already submitted previously to any other
hackathon, you are to disclose such previous use and its extent with the
submission.
If upon inspection, it is found that the project has re-used code that was not
disclosed with the submission, the organizer may ask the participant to point
out similarities and differences between the old and new work, and/or disqualify
the submission from winning awards automatically.
No Harassment:
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender
identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance,
body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or political views, sexual images in
public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, photography or
audio/video recording against reasonable consent, sustained disruption of talks
or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual
attention.
Sponsors and partners are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In
particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other
material. Sponsor representatives (including volunteers) should not use
sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised
environment.
Report:
Be kind and thoughtful to others. Do not insult or put down other participants.
Any sort of harassment or abuse is not encouraged. If you feel that you are in a
situation that makes you feel uncomfortable at the staff or at the fellow
participants, please report it to the organizers immediately.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have
any other concerns, please contact a member of hackathon staff immediately.
Consequences of Violations:
Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply
immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the hackathon organisers may
take any action they deem appropriate. This includes warning the offender,
expulsion from the hackathon, or reporting their behaviour to local law
enforcement.
